We drove this one when we were in Raleigh last weekend - it handled really nicely, was amazingly comfortable, and helped convince us that, indeed, we were ready to truly become yuppies and get a Volvo station wagon. Pros - I like the color, and it has a fold-down third row for when we need to haul more people (at least monthly, given that Chad is YM president). Cons - the interior was a little worn, but nothing unreasonable considering it is 6 years old and has 78,000 miles on it. Also, it was from a smaller, no-name dealership, which means a good price, but has it really been inspected yet?
Car #2
We haven't driven this car yet, but will do so the next time we're in Raleigh. Pros - based upon the pictures, the interior may be in better shape. We'll have to wait and drive it to know for sure. Also, it comes from a big dealership, not the random one on Capitol Blvd in Raleigh, so hopefully they've checked it out fairly thoroughly before putting it on the market. Cons - I don't like white cars, and the salesman I talked to said it didn't have a third row. But will we really need that third row all that often? I just don't know.
So there you have it - the big car debate. The mileage and the price are virtually the same, and Carfax came up clean on both, so it comes down to a little more worn interior with a better color and third row from a no-name used car lot versus nicer interior with a not-so-nice color and no third row from a large dealership. Any thoughts? I clearly need help making this decision so that I can sleep better at night.
Blogger and I aren't getting along right now, so I apologize for the random spacing.

I think you ought to go for the one with the third row seat. You never know when you will need it with YM/Ym. Plus you will probably have the car awhile, so you never know how useful it is in the long run. My sister has the same car and she absolutely loves it. She even has the same "awesome" silverish color. She does however have 3 kids, and when even one kid has a friend tag along, they have to have that third row, as none of them are of age to sit in front. But...what do I know...I am still trying to get rid of our explorer...DON'T get one of those.
OOOOOOOH! You are making me so jealous. In a loving sisterly way. A real live station wagon! I'm totally driving it when I come visit (like it or not).
Fancy, Fancy, Fancy. Jared says "cable TV & Volvo station wagons...what's becoming of the Reese's?!?" My cousin & his wife have always bought used Volvo station wagons & loved them, so I say, give it a whirl. Sometimes it good to have a little variety in your cars (not just 2 sedans).
